Injection Molding Parameters

Processing Item Typical Value / Range Notes & Explanations
Drying Treatment Critical operation. Material is moisture‑sensitive. Sufficient drying before processing is mandatory, otherwise hydrolytic degradation will occur and impair product quality and performance.
Drying Temperature 85 °C Dehumidifying dryer is recommended.
Drying Time 4‑5 h Required for material exposed to ambient air; 3 h temperature‑balancing for hermetically‑stored material. Keep moisture content below 0.1%.
Barrel Temperature
Rear zone (feed zone)
Middle zone
Front zone
Melt Temperature 240‑300 °C Do not exceed 310 °C for standard‑formula material.
Mold Temperature 30‑100 °C Unreinforced grade:30‑40 °C; Thin‑wall / large‑area parts:80‑90 °C; Reinforced grade:90‑100 °C. Precise mold‑temperature control is essential for PA12. Higher temperature increases crystallinity.
Injection Pressure Up to 1000 bar Low holding‑pressure together with high melt‑temperature is suggested.
Injection Speed High speed More favorable for glass‑filled grades.
Runner & Gate Runner diameter approx.30 mm, full‑round runner profile. Keep gate as short as possible. Submarine gate with minimum diameter 0.8 mm is recommended.
